Guadalajara

Guadalajara is a city of old architecture and street vendors with an even older history. This old lady was seated on an empty five gallon pail with her granddaughter and son gleefully selling vegetables from wicker baskets. The streets are full of all sorts, young and old selling everything from fruits and vegetables to crafts and hardware. The younger street urchins run around with only a box of chewing gum or cigarettes selling their wares to motorists and pedestrians alike.
This mother is preparing her daughter for a day on the curbside selling vegetables. They start very young by helping their mothers sell the days goods to passers bye.
The old quarter of the city is full of beautiful old buildings. The constant hustle and bustle of people and cars contrasts with the historic architecture that would have seen a quieter street of horses and carts hundreds of years ago.
The cathedrals in Guadalajara are always occupied with people coming and going, taking time out of their busy lives to quietly contemplate.
It is very hard to document the fabulous architecture that stands on every street corner and the history that unfolds as you enter. This city's old section is a real highlight and not to be missed for it's rich past.
