Newport, OR

The bar entrance to Newport was wide and very calm when we came through and is generally a good crossing if done at the right time. Being our second bar crossing we were now old hats at this tricky maneuver and the confidence was now running high.
Although there is lots of clearance under the bridge (129ft) we still felt like the mast would scrape the underside. This is a very scenic bridge and the walk across from the marina to the town of Newport was a fun one hour walk.
Looking into the marina where we stayed for the evening and the long public crabbing and fishing jetty on the other side of the bridge.
This is the view of the bridge from the marina with the breakwater and public jetty below. Julie and I were not here long enough to capture the essence of Newport but the marina was very clean with a brewpub right at the end of the docks.
