One of those very rare days when the
wind is a perfect 10 kts and the sea is completly flat. We said it
was a shame our genoa had been packed away because this would have been
an ideal day for it! We only managed 3 or 4kts but the next
anchorage was only 4 hours away. What a beautiful day. |
| Scottish Mist took this picture as
we approached the island. It is a nice reminder how beautiful
Seafire looks with all her sails flying. |

 |
This is the isthmus where you can
walk across these small salt flats to the other side and the eastern
anchorage. It is not very wide at this point on the island. |
| This shows the trail which leads
across the tops of the mountains with the Sea of Cortez to the left and
the bay to the right. Spectacular views and an easy trail to walk. |

 |
This picture is taken on the same
trail, looking the other way, east towards San Jose, which you can see
in the background. |
| Here I am sitting on the very top,
looking at the anchorage (you can just make out our boat at anchor) and
the isthmus which joins to the eastern anchorage. Have you ever seen
such a perfect beach? |

 |
This view shows the 'hook' of the
south west anchorage, which gave much better protection than the north
west anchorage we were in, when the south west winds kicked up during
the night. |
| Doreen, Bob and Julie with
'Beach Girl" the tender for Scottish Mist. Our outboard had
decided to stop working at this point so we were always grateful for a
lift to the beach! |
 |
 |
By the 4th day the anchorage was
begining to get busy, so we had a beach party to meet everyone. |
| The 'pink floaty' was ideal for
cooling down! |
