This weekend workshop will take you through 3 main stages to guide you in the process:
1. Creating The Content:
- Set up: Idea for your book, research, cover design and copy, title. Build the content: Assembling the elements and materials. Draft stages: Content edit, Peer reviews, Fact check, proof read. We work through a binder system with worksheets and examples to "build" your book and then give you plenty of time to start working on your ideas.
- PDF files, cover art, printing options, comparative self-publishing costs.
- Pro’s and cons of Publishers, Agents and distributors. Book clubs and non traditional markets and how to locate your buyers. Getting reviews in print, Radio and TV (with practical advice on TV/Radio/Print interviews).
This is a fun, informative workshop with practical advice and motivation from an Author who went through the process and is happy to answer all your questions. Everyone has a book inside of them!
About Your Facilitator:
Julie Salisbury is a published Author, Motivation coach and owner of Distinctive Event Management Co. B.C. Vice President of the Circumnavigators Club and co-founder of a non-profit that supports education and well-being of women and children in Cambodia. She has been featured on TV in the UK (Anglia TV and Satellite) and Victoria, B.C. (Shaw Daily Show), regularly featured as a radio talk show host (CFAX1070 radio, Wayne Kelly Show) and writes a regular column on “Finding your Passion” for the Attractions magazine. She has been featured in international newspapers (Daily Mail UK) and has visited over 35 countries and lived in over 10. Her published book “A Seven Year Journey Around the World – Discovering my passion and purpose” is a personal account of her own journey to discovering passion and purpose in life.
